I often perform as a wedding magician and private party magician in London and surrounding areas. This gives me the unique opportunity to experience some of the best wedding reception venues that the capital has to offer.
In this post, I'll be sharing some of my favourite venues with you. Hopefully, you will find something that matches the vision you have for your perfect day. I'll also be expanding this list over time as I perform at other private events in the future. So be sure to check back for updates.

Dartmouth House
Dartmouth House is a Georgian mansion located at 37 Charles Street in the heart of Mayfair, London. The venue is best known as the headquarters of an educational charity known as the English-Speaking Union. So you can rest assured that it's well equipped to handle events of all sizes, including wedding reception hire.
Inside, the Grade II listed mansion boasts a stunning interior. With an iconic marble staircase and a traditional private courtyard not unlike that of a French Chateau. This contemporary setting comes complete with a dedicated catering service. With seating available for intimate groups of 10, to grand wedding receptions of up to 150 guests.
Dartmouth House can also provide you with a dedicated coordinator to assist with the planning of your London wedding reception. This includes selecting from a range of acoustic entertainment. Including a grant piano, harpists, string quartet or jazz trio. Or if you prefer, a professional DJ or live band.
Clissold House
Clissold House is a beautiful Grade II listed mansion located in the tranquil surrounds of Clissold Park in Stoke Newington. The 18th-century building can be hired for a variety of private events, including a memorable wedding reception in London.
The mansion was recently refurbished with carefully restored marble fireplaces, spiral staircases and a breathtaking outdoor terrace. This is twinned with tall ornate windows that flood the mansion with natural light and afford guests with stunning views across the park.
Two main rooms are available for weddings. The Drawing Room and Hallway for the main ceremony, and The Dining Room for guests to enjoy a seated dinner or standing reception. Upstairs, the New River Room, Dressing Room and Church room can also be used for smaller gatherings.
Clissold House also has a dedicated events team to help plan your day and provide useful advice. This includes organising caterers, florists, lighting and furniture to bring your special day to life.
10-11 Carlton House Terrace
Located in the City of Westminster, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace is one of the most famous townhouses in Central London. Built originally on land belonging to the Crown, the venue sits on what was once known as the Royal Garden of St James's Palace.
The 19th-century interior of Carlton House Terrace boasts period features that will take your breath away. This includes stunning views across The Mall, St James's Park and many other well-known London landmarks. Making for perfect photo opportunities.
A selection of rooms are available for London weddings. With space for an intimate ceremony in the Cornwall Room and up to 100 guests for a wedding reception in the Wolfson Room, Lecture Room, Music Room and Council Room. Or if you prefer, each Townhouse can be rented in their entirety. Offering ample flexible space for your special day.
116 Pall Mall
Located in the St James's are of the City of Westminster, 116 Pall Mall is a Grade I listed building that was built in 1828. The venue is well-known as a favourite of Paul McCartney and James Bond creator Ian Fleming. The street of Pall Mall is also famous for its name which was inspired by a ball game that was played there in the 17th-century.
The venue offers two private function rooms ideally suited for a wedding reception in London. This includes The Nash, which is a large luxurious room able to seat up to 250 seated guests and 350 standing. The Waterloo room is smaller, with room for up to 90 seated guests and 160 standing. Though it does offer beautiful views of Waterloo Place and Pall Mall. You are of course also able to hire the entire venue if you prefer.
Of course, a dedicated events team will be on hand to help bring your special day to life. With bespoke packages and intricate planning that will allow you to sit back and enjoy the day without a worry.
One Whitehall Place
Located in the heart of London, this Grade II listed venue is ideally situated on the River Thames, directly opposite the London Eye. There are also 277 luxury bedrooms and several suites available in the 5-star Royal Horseguards hotel. Making this venue the perfect base for a memorable wedding reception in London.
The building is well-known as one of London's top hotels. With a stunning interior that was modelled on a grand French château in the 19th-century. And thanks to its location, the hotel offers breathtaking views over the River Thames and South Bank. Making it the ideal venue for wedding photos that you will cherish forever.
One Whitehall Place offers several event rooms that can be hired for a wedding reception. This includes the Gladstone Library with room for 220 seated guests. The library adjoins the Reading & Writing Room which has space for 120 seated guests or 250 standing. The venue also has a dedicated internal catering team to take care of your guests as they dine under the glittering chandeliers.
